Tour Jamaica
Kingston - The Capital

The Capital was moved from Spanish Town to Kingston in 1755. Kingston was chartered as a city in 1692.

The last international census put the population of greater Kingston at 652,000; somewhere in between Baton Rouge, Louisiana and El Paso, Texas in the U.S. or more than Manchester in the U.K.

The city lies in a horseshoe surrounded by mountains with one of the world's best harbours in front of it.
